Captured in this photograph is the heartwarming memory of our Thanksgiving Drive for Haitian migrant families in November of 2022.Together, we transformed a simple act of kindness into a bountiful feast of hope, creating lasting memories for all involved. This image encapsulates the essence of gratitude, showcasing the power of collective goodwill in providing a warm and welcoming embrace to our Haitian brothers and sisters. 

COHI Founder, Vanessa Jean-Louis traveled to Houston, Texas to volunteer at a migrant processing facility in the fall of 2021. You can read her OP-ED for NJ.com here.

Vanessa Jean-Louis and COHI Board Member  and The Apostles House CEO, Nadege Duvernay sponsored a Community Baby Shower for 4 pregnant migrants. Additional families with newborn babies were also served. 

Partnered with Board Member, Father Gene Squeo of the Haiti Solidarity Network to provide clothing, toys, VISA gift cards, and Christmas items to Haitian migrant families.

Theta Phi Sigma Christian Sorority Incorporated Malachi Rho chapter of Northern New Jersey provided clothing, blankets, pillows, toys, and baby items to migrant families.

COHI Founder, Councilwoman Charnette Frederick and others protested the treatment of Haitian Migrants in Newark, New Jersey.

COHI partnered with the International Rescue Committee, New Jersey Office of Refugees, Baby2Baby, and the New Jerusalem Baptist Church to provide over 250 backpacks and school supplies along with over 400 boxes of diapers and other necessities!
