Frustrated by the lack of support for Haitian migrants, despite their historical contributions to this country, Vanessa Jean-Louis decided to start an organization that focused on providing meaningful support for this community. She considers her volunteer work a labor of love!
Vanessa is the proud off-spring of two hard working Haitian parents. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 2007. She has worked full-time as an elementary school counselor. She currently works as Vice President for a finance start-up. She was honored to be nominated for the prestigious New Jersey Governor’s Educational Support Personnel of the Year award in 2018 and 2021.
We saw fit to start an organization that would provide meaningful assistance to the Haitian migrants who have been critically underserved.
Our goal as a charity is to promote the cultural, economic, educational and professional integration of immigrants. In conjunction with private donors, national and local agencies, we aim to provide the tools and resources to prepare immigrant families to become self-sufficient and active members of the community.
